Personal Training that actually FEELS Personal

  • What would you do with more energy?

  • What would you do if “IT” didn’t hurt?

  • Do you want to feel better, more often?

  • Are there things you’re missing out on, or held back from, because of your body?

I get it. I’ve been there. I can help.

Hi, my name is Ben Suarez. I’m an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and a graduate of Georgetown University, with a passion for helping people get the most out of their lives. Borrowing from my own fitness journey, the injuries I healed and the obstacles I overcame, plus more than a decade of experience as a personal trainer, we’ll work together to come up with a custom fitness plan that is tailored to you, your preferences, your goals, and your schedule

Why Clients Choose Me…

Unlike most “personal” trainers who nevertheless use a one-size-fits-all approach, and who focus too narrowly on a gym-based definition of fitness, for each of my clients I build a comprehensive, personalized program that is unique to you. My focus is on movement, not just fitness or exercise, because it produces better results, faster, with less effort, and more fun, so you can get the most out of our time together and the most out of your life.

Clients choose me to help them:

  • maximize their drive on the back nine

  • keep up with their kids and grandkids on the ski slopes

  • look and feel their best

And clients choose me so they can avoid:

  • knee and back surgery

  • that achey, stiff feeling first thing in the morning

  • wasting time in the gym, or hurting themselves with incorrect form

My approach works best for people who work out to live better, not those who live to work out. Because although I’ve been a personal trainer for more than a decade, it’s not the only thing I do. I’m also a professional musician, passionate chef, devoted boyfriend, and full-time dog dad.

The obstacles I overcame make me a more effective coach for you.

My fitness journey, and my holistic approach, started after a series of sports injuries and long work hours left me with chronic pain, sickness, and fatigue. The low point was when I threw my back out trying to lift a suitcase of wine bottles into overhead storage. (Long story, and even worse, they weren’t my wine bottles!)

Stiff, directionless, and in constant pain, I knew I had to change.

But I didn’t know what to do.

When I signed up for a gym membership, it was boring and I made excuses not to go.

When I signed up for personal training, they treated me like I had to become a bodybuilder.

When I tried to lose weight with diet trends, I yo-yoed up and down whenever my band’s tour schedule or my life commitments interrupted my rigid meal plans and exercise routine.

I couldn’t dedicate my whole life to fitness. I just wanted to heal my body so I could live pain free, look good, and have lots of energy for all my interests.

For a long time, I was hopeless.

But as they say, “the obstacle is the way,” and as I committed to solving my problems, I began to turn things around.

Over the past ten years, based on my own experience, and a ton of research and training, I have experimented, explored, and worked with clients of all fitness levels to develop a holistic approach that is fun, safe, makes sense, and just plain works.

In each training session, and for every movement, you will learn:

  • WHAT we’re working on

  • WHY we’re doing what we’re doing

  • HOW it fits into your goals

…and most importantly how this translates into better movement and quality of life outside the gym.
